About

Alan got his start at the Enright Ridge Urban Ecovillage (ERUEV) while attending college at UC. There, he spent his time volunteering and growing food as part of ERUEV's Farm Project.


Today, he is the owner and operator of Probasco Farm.  Alan teaches sustainability workshops in the region on an occasional basis (topics such as mushroom cultivation, bioswale and rain garden installation, and cover cropping), and provides wild mushroom identification and guidance free for the community.

His past experience includes greenhouse maintenanace; orchard pruning; vegetable and native plant propagation; hands-on experience working in four communal farming projects; extensive time spent working with and administering community gardens; and over 6 months administering volunteer programs and residing on the board of directors at the Village Green Foundation, Inc., an agriculture non-profit in Northside.
